Emotions Matter

Psychoneuroimmunology is a field of study that originally explored the interconnectedness of the mind, body, and immune system. It explored how various physiological and psychological factors affect our immune responses and overall health. these incredible molecules of emotion (thought previously only to be produced by the nervous system) are produce by a myriad of bodily tissues and receptors can be found for them almost everywhere thus the scope of influence of neuropeptides is much greater than the immune sytem.

These chemicals signal the emotional experience of the organism and broadcast it to all the component parts of the body (and psyche). Where these molecules at receptors most often found in cell membranes (easily argued to be fascial in nature) arrive they trigger huge and complex cascades of cellular and organ change to reflect the micro shifts in cellular function it finds as necessities implicit in that whole beings experience.

In fact with this understanding it become easily possible to understand the poetry of emotions and organs frequently referenced by acupuncture. It also becomes possible to hypothesise a mechanism whereby posture as a whole contains the sum total of the individuals experiences in life and likely a whole raft of inherited ones too.

What I’m getting at here is that posture is memory. Other than short term, no one has ever been able to find sufficient “space” or “storage“ for it in the cranium. I have witnessed the body displaying and functioning in a way that tells the story of a persons life. Absent parents, codependencies, old trauma, familial relationships, self esteem, and so much more.

The translation point between emotion, the coding language of our 4trillion bit per second quantum supercomputer, into physical sensations and relationships of segments, function of viscera, thoughts and suchlike in our world, gives rise to the possibility of using the physical body as yet another map and key to a persons history and experience of life.

The concept of the three different brains – the cranial brain, intellect center; the heart brain, emotional intuitive center; and the gut brain sensing instinctual center – are an important aspect of this idea and play in to the key concept of this article ; psychoneuroimmunology.

Each of these three brains is associated with specific physiological and psychological responses that can impact our health and well-being. For example, the heart brain is responsible for processing emotions, including higher feelings such as love, compassion, and empathy. These emotions can play a significant role in reducing stress levels and strengthening our immune system.

Similarly, the gut brain is responsible for regulating bodily functions such as digestion and elimination. This can have a direct impact on our overall health and well-being as a healthy gut microbiome can help to reduce inflammation and improve the functioning of our immune system.

From a Structural integration point of view we can look at these three brains as each being the organisational epicentre of the three  aspects of the human being birthed early in the growth of an embryo from the three dermal layers. Three distinct early specialisations each with there own network and comms systems. They form the thinker, the feeler and the mover.

Now the fascial bed in which all of these layers are grown sustained, continually nourished and repaired (literally the mother of the body) emerges from the thinker layer of the embryo, suggesting it has pre-neural qualities and is an elementary information network. When you find it reads the DNA to translate the blueprint of genes into a working three dimensional structure, and it does this across all three dermal layers and thusly aspects of a person. It seems both exciting and fairly obvious that fascia give a practitioner access to all of these levels and the memories of experience stored therein

Neuropeptides are small protein-like molecules that are involved in a myriad variety of physiological processes including pain perception, appetite regulation, and mood regulation. Dr. Bruce Lipton has proposed the concept that neuropeptides may be influencing genes via epigenetic processes, thus playing a significant role in how our genes are expressed and potentially impacting our health and well-being.

Understanding the role of the three different brains and the potential impact of neuropeptides can empower us to make more informed decisions about our health and well-being. By paying attention to our emotional and instinctual responses, regulating our stress levels, and maintaining a healthy gut microbiome, we can support our immune system and enhance our overall health and well-being.

Not only that but as a lifelong student of Dr Rolfs work and a daily user of the recipe. I see a set of concepts and ideas, with strong scientific basis that tantalising offers a bridge in our understanding to the potency of her work to offer clients access to there true potential. It not only expands the exploration of intention and scope of this body of work but also highlights the true genius of both Dr Rolf and the recipe, this work appears to be able to reach to the roots of a persons ancestry all the way out to the Leaves in the superficial layer that meets the world as identity.

As i so frequently find, with each muse into a deeper layer of this work, new secrets are revealed. I often feel like she knew…..like the master to the initiate, patiently waiting for you to commence your enquiry…..
